First Friday Frolics - Stand Up Comedy at The ACE
Join us at The ACE Centre on the first Friday of every month for an evening of stand up comedy in association with Concept Comedy Promotions.  Each evening features a full programme of outstanding comic talent with three great comedians and an MC for just £7 in advance (or £8 on the door).

Host and compere for the night is Phil Buckley. Since 2003 he's been winning over audiences up and down Britain with his laidback style, natural charm and stylish delivery. His use of stories, one liners and the odd prop-based joke combine to make him a comedian with something for everyone, he's an effortless compere.

Downright hilarious. Interspersed with some savvy observations - Three Weeks
Hilarious anecdotes, observations and unashamed jokes - The Weekly News

The opening act is George Egg.  Wildly brandishing the worlds' second largest briefcase containing a battery of ridiculous props, George bounds onto the stage to perform one of the most original, interesting, innovative, and sweetly whimsical comedy performances you are ever likely to see. He has been hailed as 'a Tommy Cooper for the twenty first century' and through tears of laughter you'll see why. A true cross between alternative stand-up comedy and music hall variety.

"A hugely entertaining variety turn" The Guardian
“The funniest comedian I've seen in a very long time" Chortle

Covering the middle bit we have the engaging Julia Sutherland.   She got into stand-up as a dare, when she was daily co-host on Fred MacAulays morning radio show, and found herself doing her second ever gig at the Manchester Comedy store, as a semi-finalist of the Funny Women competition. Her take on sex and relationships is unique, and doesn’t pull any punches. Since 2009 she has been gigging all over the country, put on a show at the Edinburgh festival, and become quite the little comedy strumpet.
Laugh out loud funny!! Fred MacAulay
She had the audiences in stitches... stories with heart, soul, and surprisingly filthy punchlines! Hilarious!!    Dabster Productions

The headliner for the night is Oldham-born Dominic Woodward who gave up his job in McDonalds in 2001 to pursue a career in stand-up, it was definitely the right move for him and for comedy audiences. He's a Writer and star of the Unbroadcastable Radio Show and much more. He tells hilarious stories about his everyday life and brings to life the quirky people he meets, something we can probably all identify with. One of the most naturally funny acts you'll see, you just want to laugh along with him.
